GENERAL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS


1.        Only Indian Nationals who have attained the age of 18 years and above are eligible to apply.

2.         Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in this advertisement as on closing date of application.

3.        For the Un Reserved (UR) vacancy, SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates can apply subject to meeting with all general standards of eligibility.

4.        The candidate must possess qualifications recognized by the relevant statutory bodies like UGC/ AICTE etc. Correspondence course in Diploma shall not be considered as recognised qualification as per AICTE norms.

5.        Higher technical qualification like B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M.E etc with or without Diploma is not allowed.

6.        Recruitment of Diploma Trainees/Junior Officer Trainees/Junior Tech. Trainees etc are conducted on regional basis against requirement of concerned regions. Hence, candidates joining in such positions  in regions are not entitled for inter-region transfer request.


7.        All eligibility qualification should be recognized and from a recognized Institution/Board/Council/ University. Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade in a degree/diploma is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by University/ Institute. Proof of norms adopted by the University/Institute to convert CGPA/OGPA/DGPA into percentage is to be submitted at the time of verification, if called for. In case the University/Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

8.        Mere submission of application does not guarantee the adequacy of candidature for being considered for further selection process.

9.        Management reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify/alter the recruitment/selection process, if need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereafter.

10.    The vacancies notified may vary and operation of panel will depend on requirement.

11.    Candidature is liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment/selection process or after joining, if any information provided by the candidate is not found in conformity with the criteria mentioned or if POWERGRID comes across any evidence/knowledge that the qualification, experience and any other particulars indicated in the application/other forms/formats are not recognized/false/misleading and/or amounts to suppression of information/particulars which should have been brought to the notice of POWERGRID.

12.    All computations of eligibility criteria and other norms viz. Age, Qualification, etc., shall be as on closing date of online application. Date of issuance of final mark sheet shall be taken as the date of acquiring qualification.

13.    Candidates selected in POWERGRID are liable to be posted anywhere in India and abroad.

14.    Management reserves the right to raise or lower the qualifying standards in any stage of the selection process depending on availability of sufficient number of candidates.

15.    Candidates working in Govt./PSU are required to produce “No Objection Certificate” at the time of Document verification.

16.    SC/ST/PwD Candidates shall be reimbursed second class rail fare/bus fare by shortest route for to and fro travel for the purpose of appearing in test, on production of railway ticket/number/bus ticket for onward journey and self-attested copy of SC/ST/PwD certificate, restricted to distance between the address for communication and the nearest test centre.

17.    Candidates claiming reservation under OBC (NCL) should belong to OBC-Non-Creamy Layer as on closing date of submission of online application.

18.    Candidates belonging to OBC (NCL) category will have to submit latest OBC (NCL) certificate in proper format issued during FY 2021-2022.

19.    All photocopies of documents (along with the application) submitted at the time of Document Verification, if called for, should be self-attested by the candidate. Candidates should retain sufficient number of same coloured size photograph as used in the online application for future use.

20.    Candidates shall submit application for only ONE post as the Written Test shall be held on the same day for all the posts.

21.     Legal jurisdiction will be NCT of Delhi in case of any cause / dispute.

22.  Online application forms that are incomplete and without prescribed fee will be rejected straight away and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

23.  Mere submission of application to POWERGRID does not guarantee the adequacy of candidature for being considered for further selection process.

24.  There is no provision of re-checking / re-evaluation of Answer Sheets.

25.  The candidature of the candidate at all stages of the selection process shall be provisional in nature.


26.  Mobile phones / pagers/ iPad / iPod / Tablets / Phablets or any other such electronic device is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates are advised to not carry the same to the examination hall. Candidates have to make their own arrangement to keep these items out of the Examination Hall at their own risk. POWERGRID shall not be responsible for any loss of personal belongings. Possession of any electronic device inside the examination hall may lead to disqualification of candidature of the candidate.

27.  In case a candidate submits more than 01 application for the same post, the application with the latest registration no. shall only be considered.

28.  Candidates are required to fill in their bank details such as bank A/C No, Bank’s name Branch Name, IFSC code etc. in the online application form in order to enable us to process TA payment online if applicable.

1.              Minimum Educational Qualification & Experience:-

           For Draftsman (Mechanical), Fitter, Structural Fitter, Pipe Fitter, Rigger, Welder (G&E), Electrician, Electronic Mechanic & ICTSM Trades;


a) Essential: (i) Passed 10th Standard, (ii) Passed National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination in related Trade with 5 years’ experience in Industry or teaching or training.

Or

 

Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering / Technology with Three Years of Experience in Industry or teaching or training.

 

Desirable: Passed Instructor Training Course in the relevant Trade from any of the Advanced Training Institute for Instructors under the Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment

Or

 

Passed Advanced Training Course in the relevant Trade followed by Training in Principle of Teaching from any Regional Vocational Training Institute for women or National Vocational Training Institute for women under Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment

2.               Job Description:

i).  For Draftsman (Mech.), Fitter, Structural Fitter, Pipe Fitter, Welder (G&E), Rigger, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic & ICTSM:-

Conduct Theory Classes of the subjects Trade Theory, Workshop Calculation & Science and Engineering  drawing, Employability Skills subjects & Practical Classes and workshop training including CAD, CAM etc., as per syllabus as per apprentices act 1961 and any other responsibility given by the OIC ATS.

 

ii).   For Instructor: - Employability Skills:-

 

Conduct theory classes of the Employability Skills subject including soft skill classes and computer literacy course, Functional English, Life skills, IT Basics, Occupational Health, Environment & Safety etc. for of all trade apprentices, as per syllabus and any other duties assigned by OIC ATS time to time.

 

iii).   For Sign Language Interpreter:-

Selected candidate will be required to perform all admin duties and interpretation work with regards to training of hearing impaired and other divayang apprentices and other duties assigned by OIC ATS time to time.

3.               Emoluments:

            The candidate selected for the post of Training Instructor (On Contract) will be paid remuneration of Rs. 1200 /- per working day for duty time of 07:30 am to 05:00 pm.

            Selected Candidates will not be entitled for Casual / Sick / Earn Leaves, Medical benefits, TA / DA, Superannuation Benefits (i.e. PF, Gratuity, Pension and PRMS or any other facilities).

            Above said posts will be purely on contract basis for Period of Two year subject to satisfactory performance during the first year.

4.    Selection Procedure:

Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the scrutiny of essential basic prescribed qualification followed by personal interview including demo lecture as applicable to the respective disciplines.

Shortlisted Candidates will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:12.

However, the Management may take a view of selection process looking to the number of eligible applications.

5.               Verification of Original Documents:

In case the candidate is called for Personal Interview, he/she has to bring the downloaded application form and all Original Documents uploaded along with one Separate Set of Photo Copy duly Self Attested in the order as mentioned below.

a)   Experience letter indicating the date of joining as well as date of relieving.

c)   Pay Slip for the month of March & April ‘21

Note: Please note that Post Qualification Experience in the relevant discipline (excluding Apprentice training period) from the date of passing mentioned in the mark sheet will be considered. Experience as Apprentice Trainee under Apprentice Act will not be considered.

The candidature of all candidates will be provisional and all the required documents will be checked at the time of Personal Interview.

However, this list is not exhaustive and candidate may be required to produce other relevant documents on case to case basis in support of his/ her candidature. Non-production of original documents will debar the candidate from appearing for the interview.

7.               Pre-Employment Medical Examination:

Applicants should be of sound health and meet the Medical Fitness Standards as prescribed. Candidates short-listed for appointment following interview shall undergo a medical test conducted/ organized by the Company and certified by the Company’s Chief Medical Officer.

Candidates called for Pre-Employment Medical Examination shall attend the same at their own expense.

8.          Verification of Antecedents:

Police Verification Report (PVR) is a pre-condition for joining of the selected candidates. Selected Candidates will have to obtain a formal Police Verification Report before joining MDL.

Candidates joining from Govt. / PSU and whose applications have been forwarded through proper channel will be permitted

·        Login to MDL Online Portal with “Username” & “Password”

·        Select the job under Apprentice Tab & view the “Eligibility Criteria”

·        While applying, candidate should have the scanned copy of recent passport size colour   photograph, their signature & other relevant Certificates in jpeg, jpg, png format.

·        Read the instructions carefully and fill up all the details in the Online Application Form.

·         Candidates may enter ‘NA’ in the mandatory fields not applicable to them.

·         Check preview of the Application form and make corrections, if any. Any changes in the application form need to be edited before clicking on “Submit”. No other means of communication or correspondence will be entertained for correction in the Online Application Form.

·        Candidate belonging to General / OBC/ SEBC / EWS category are required to pay the application  fees of Rs. 100/-online. Detail instructions for payment of processing fees may be referred at Para-

11.               Instructions for Payment of Processing Fees:

Candidates are required to pay the Processing Fee Online only as per procedure given below.

·        Click on Pay Now”

·        On successful completion of the transaction, an “e-receipt” would be generated. Please download the receipt and save it for future reference.
